Cde Alfred Makwarimba
Cde Alfred Makwarimba is the esteemed President of the Zimbabwe Federation of Trade Unions (ZFTU). Under his leadership, ZFTU has become a pivotal force in advocating for workers' rights and improving labor conditions across Zimbabwe. He has been instrumental in driving initiatives that address wage erosion caused by hyperinflation, pushing for wage increases that match the cost of living. A key participant in the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF), Cde Makwarimba engages with the government and employers to discuss and resolve labor issues, striving to create a sustainable social contract that benefits all parties involved. Under his visionary leadership, ZFTU continues to be a powerful movement dedicated to building a brighter, more equitable future for all workers in Zimbabwe.
